12 days of uplift #2: Together we are strong
Artist Erin Aniker has created these beautiful designs to raise money for NIA
Hello and a happy Thursday to you,
You’ll have to forgive me for not sending a #12DaysOfUplift yesterday (Wednesday). I had my booster jab on Tuesday and was completely wiped out towards the end of Wednesday. After work, I lay down fully clothed at 8pm and woke up 12 hours later (sorry any parents reading this). I’m much better today. I hope you are doing OK too.
Today, I bring to you the good news story of the excellent London-based illustrator Erin Aniker who is raising money for NIA with these stunning limited edition posters and postcards.
NIA is an east London-based charity working to end violence against women and children.
Erin told me: “They've really helped me personally this year along with lots of other women with the amazing services they provide and I just wanted to do something positive back as a lot of crisis centres are having a tough time with increased demand for their services over the pandemic.”
Erin is the artist behind The British Library’s recent exhibition 200 Years of Women’s Rights.
The limited edition fundraising series is called Strong, Shameless, Roots and is a tribute to the renowned Feminist Collective and community group See Red Women's Workshop.
The three designs are available via Erin’s online shop with 50% of all proceeds going to NIA.
Roots and Shameless! were originally created as colouring in sheet for the ShameLess! Festival against sexual violence, as part of WOW - Women of the World festival.
Strong is Erin’s reinterpretation of Alone We Are Powerless…Together We Are Strong released by See Red Women’s workshop in 1975.
Thanks for reading. I hope to write to you again tomorrow with another uplifting story.
