Hello and a happy Friday to you 🌞
It’s a strange day for me as it’s my last day working for HuffPost UK after more than four years. There are quite a few of us leaving and we had a team meeting to say farewell yesterday, which was incredibly emotional.
Leaving a job after not seeing colleagues in person for 14 months hasn’t been easy and it felt bizarre to do a goodbye and thank you speech speaking to a screen and sitting alone wearing slippers in my messy flat. What I’ve learnt after many years of work on myself is not to push the difficult emotions away but to allow them to wash over me and eventually they pass. Using Headspace to practise mindfulness has been particularly helpful for me.
It’s a bright, sunny and hopeful morning as I write this newsletter. There is so much to look forward to: leaving dos today and tomorrow, catching up with friends in the coming weeks, more house sits, and a third nibling due in July. I hope you have some nice things to look forward to as well.
