Hello,
Hope youâve had a good week.
I canât believe how dark it is in the evenings at the moment. It surprises me every year. I feel lucky to be freelance at the moment so I can try and get as much light as possible during the day. If youâre affected by the seasonal changes, I hope youâre finding ways to look after yourself.
According to mental health charity Mind, some good ways to deal with winter seasonal affective disorder (SAD) include making the most of natural light, so getting outside as much as possible during the day. The charity also recommends planning ahead, so perhaps batch cooking and freezing ahead of times you might have less energy.
Remember if youâre ever feeling a bit crap, you can ask yourself: âWhatâs the kindest thing I can do for myself right now, even if just a little?â That could be doing a task youâve been putting off, making yourself something nourishing to eat or going for a walk.
