Lovely post, Becky! I too love this 'April' weather in May. Dark skies interjected with sunshine and the reward of rainbows. And there's been something special about the rain recently!
The screen thing is very tricky! I struggle with it hugely myself.
The game changer for me is/ was, not keeping my phone next to the bed. Then having a rule where I don't look at it until I've done XYZ first. So for me it's a few pages of reading, journaling and some writing. I don't always nail it! But it's changed things a lot. Because I know as soon as I start opening the apps I'm in a scroll hole. But if I intentionally choose, I'd much rather be reading or writing.
I also find Substack a very different place (in a good way) than social media apps, news apps and Whatsapp. So I'm letting myself spend as long as I fancy around here!
Take care and loads of luck for this exciting new chapter!
Sounds like you had a magical time in the rain! Such a good reminder of how letting ourselves experience all the different types of weather can be so refreshing for the soul. I remember once getting caught in a heavy downpour by a river, and wondering how it must feel to be a raindrop, and the different experience of landing on the river and becoming part of that flow, compared to landing on tree or grass, and on concrete... And thank you so much for the kind shout out for 'To Hear the Trees Speak!

Thanks Becky - Inspiring stuff
Getting out and appreciating nature through the seasons, is so good for mental health and well being - even in the rain!
Thanks Robert 🙏
Good luck with next steps! I've found Catherine Price really helpful to limit screen time http://catherineprice.com/
Thanks Ayesha. I will check her advice out.
